Bob
Corbett AMS®, is
the principal marine surveyor with CanMar Marine Surveyors
Ltd. He holds the status of: Accredited Marine Surveyor ®
(AMS®) in the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®);
Is a Standards Accredited member of the American Boat and
Yacht Council (ABYC); Is certified by ABYC in Marine Electrical,
and Diesel Engines; Has been awarded designation as an ABYC
Master Marine Technician; Is a BoatUS ® Approved Marine
Surveyor
Is a member of the International Association of Marine Investigators
(IAMI); Has completed a program of professional development
in Boat Fire Investigation focusing on Marine Insurance Fraud,
sponsored by the International Association of Arson Investigators;
Has successfully completed CARGO SURVEYING covering Container
Inspections, Hatch and Discharge Surveys, Cargo Damage Techniques
and Mitigation of Damages as presented by the Maritime Bureau
Inc. Has successfully completed the First Marine Small Power
Watercraft seminar in Small Power Watercraft Damage and Claim
Evaluation as presented by the First Marine Insurance Co.
Is a member of the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Marine
Trades Association.
Born
in Saint John, New Brunswick (NB) & educated in the Port
City as well as in Halifax, Nova Scotia (NS), Canada, Bob
has several decades of marine experience, in both power and
sail, including multiple trans Atlantic and Caribbean passages
aboard sailing vessels both as Captain and Mate. He has captained
two races in the Caribbean 1500 competitions to the British
Virgin Islands (BVI) finishing third place in his class on
one occasion and first on another.
Bob
is also - A Trainer and Examiner for Transport Canada Pleasure
Craft Operators License.

Bob
Colpitts -
Bob
is an experienced captain with over fifty off shore deliveries
to his credit, all without incident. His deliveries have taken
him to most east coast North American ports from Halifax Nova
Scotia to the Antilles. Vessels have ranged from 30 feet to
115 feet. He has sailed throughout Europe, the Atlantic from
Gibraltar to Antigua, and has raced in such notable competitions
as the Bermuda Race and the Fastnet. We would be pleased to
provide references on request.
Pat
Scouten CTech – the principle marine electrician.
Pat is a Red Seal Industrial Instrumentation Journeyman and
is a certified technician through NBSCETT. For the past eight
years he has worked with various control and electrical systems
(24 VDC to 250 VDC systems). He has maintained and installed
inverters, rectifiers as well as low and medium voltage distribution
systems (110 VAC to 5K VAC systems). Pat’s experience
includes a number of years working in Project Management and
Gen-set installs at Point LePreau Generating Station. Pat
has recently joined CanMar as Chief of Marine Electrical and
Electronics installation.
Pat has
experienced extended Caribbean passages and has successfully
retrieved and delivered sailing vessels for charter companies
in the region. He also crewed on a race to the British Virgin
Islands (BVI) in a Caribbean 1500 competition finishing third
in his class. He is well experienced as a supervisor for marina
operations.
Sarah
Scouten BA BSc Major in Marine Biology. – Sarah
has spent her life around water and boats growing up on the
Saint John River. Her acquaintance began with sail and pleasure
craft but has since extended to research conducted aboard
commercial fishing vessels including performing surveys and
trawls. Sarah spent three seasons as Dockmaster on the river.
She has worked with CanMar as an assistant instructor in preparing
materials and instructing students involved in the Pleasure
Craft Operators course. She has also been involved in conducting
marine surveys for commercial business interests with CanMar
as well as private pleasure craft. Sarah has successfully
completed the Marine Surveying course at Chapman’s School
of Seamanship. She has SCUBA certification. In addition to
her association with CanMar as an assistant marine surveyor
she is involved on a contractual basis with the Federal Department
of Fisheries as a Marine Biologist in St. Andrews New Brunswick.
